This is a series where I link to my favorite blog posts from the financial blogs that I follow and read directly. These are the articles I found particularly useful or good in some way. I hope you enjoy my choices and learn something too!
Week of 6/28/2010:
- The Billionaire Secret: Avoid Ordinary Income, Acquire Capital Gains @ Bargaineering. Jim writes about how the billionaires invest in things that net capital gains which are taxed at a lower rate than ordinary income. Good info!
- Reader Story: Debt-Free by 30 -- Including the Mortgage! @ Get Rich Slowly. JD posted a reader's story of grad school, debt, and freeing themselves of it. I found it inspiring and is making me wonder: Is it worth the peace of mind (forgoing gains) to pay off my mortgage now?
- Nine Tactics That Work for Starting Food Preparation at Home @ The Simple Dollar. Trent did a great write up on how cooking at home is cheaper and how to get started on grocery shopping and cooking frugally. This is a great jump start for those interested in the grocery game.
